Strawberry Lemonade

Have a quart of freshly picked strawberries lying around in the summer time? Consider making a pitcher of fresh Strawberry Lemonade. You only need a few ingredients and you can keep it in a pitcher in your fridge to sip on throughout the week! This would also be a great drink to have when guests are coming over – you can serve it up on your balcony or patio like we did!

Strawberry Lemonade

Strawberry Lemonade


  • 1 quart (4 cups) of fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 1 lemon, cut into quarters
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 5 cup water


  1. Dissolve the sugar in 1 cup of water by heating it up in the microwave for about 45 seconds.
  2. Put the strawberries and the above sugar-water mixture into a blender and blend until thoroughly combined. Pour into your pitcher.
  3. Then, blend the quartered lemon (entire lemon with skin) with the remaining water in the same blender. Strain this mixture through a fine sieve into your pitcher. Stir to combine. If you prefer this recipe to be more sweet, you can add another 1/4 cup of sugar. If you prefer it more sour, add another lemon.
  4. Stir to combine and serve over ice!

Lemon Basil Shrimp Pasta

Continuing on from my post earlier this week, I had an abundance of lemons that I purchased that needed to be used up. I also have a basil plant that’s growing wildly out of control and is in dire need of a trimming. Trying to think of how I could combine those two ingredients into a dish, I decided to make lemon basil shrimp pasta!

Lemon Blueberry Loaf

Last week while I was at Costco, I impulsively bought a large bag of lemons thinking that I could use them all up before they go bad, no problem.  After all, lemons last quite some time and are very versatile right? Besides… Costco offered such a great deal, I couldn’t say no!

A week later, one of my lemons already started to mold and some of them were turning soft 🙁 So I panicked and looked up as many lemon recipes as possible to use up as much of my remaining lemons as I could. One that really caught my eye was the Lemon Blueberry Loaf recipe.

I was super excited to make this. For some reason, blueberries and lemon really go well together. Presentation wise, it’s extremely vibrant.

Delicious Lemon Bars

The weather is getting warmer and the sun is finally coming out! I swear I haven’t seen it in 3 months… Best of all, it’s an indication that Spring is around the corner 🙂 In order to celebrate, I decided to make a really bright and citrusy dessert to reflect the spring colors that are popping up everywhere — Lemon Bars!

I was first introduced to these yummy lemon bars at a Christmas dinner I had with my friends last year. One of them brought these lemon bars that their mom made and everyone was raving about them. Of course we hounded them for the recipe but despite getting the recipe, I just never got around to making it.. until today!
